Probably the best singular system I’ve ever used. I’ve gone through a lot of “systems” in the last 20 years. Starting from playing rugby at 16 and lifting weights, before moving more to predominantly bodyweight work as I started BJJ in my mid twenties, heavily studying and using kettlebells for more than a decade. I certified as a strength and conditioning coach in my 30s (NSCA CSCS), I’ve studied Russian S&C systems, I’ve completed the Functional Patterns 10 week course, I’ve invested heavily in myofascial release, I’ve spent extensive amounts of time practicing yoga, I’ve done rope flow work, animal flow movement training etc, etc……and I’m not talking on & off, my training has been consistent along side my BJJ (I actually run a BJJ school) 5-6 times a week for close to 20 years……nothing has achieved the same results, or made so much sense to me in all this time. Yes, I’ve seen benefits from other systems, but often with other systems it works for a while and then little niggles start to crop up. With OKF, while I’m going to need more time to undo 20 years of poor patterning, I can clearly feel noticeable differences in how I move and feel without the need for an excessive mobility routine to supplement my strength training. The results keep compounding over time and surprisingly, while the exercises are difficult, they are simple in their approach and effectiveness. I’m now 40 and feel I’m moving better than I did when I was 30.
